Sermon: Articles of Faith – Justification

When you look at your life, do you feel that you always do the right thing?  Do you act justly?  Micah 6:8 tells us that basically all God asks of us is to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him.  Have you (or I) done this all the time?  Hardly.  We stumble and mess up all the time.

While perfect obedience in harmony with God is the goal, He has provided the means of justification for His people:  Jesus Christ.  I know it sounds unoriginal, but that’s OK.  Jesus is the answer to the problem of our sin.  His revelation of the truth provided the way for them to understand God more fully and repent.  His sacrifice made way for the gracious mercy of God to be applied to His disciples without violating God’s holiness.  His Spirit gives us a new and abundant life that yearns to follow and walk with Him.

The Doctrine of Justification is tied up in all of these ideas, and I hope you find the message linked below edifying.
