Today marks the first Monday of the Advent season, and this week’s passage hits right at the heart of the Gospel. At the core of the Gospel message is the coming of the Son of Man, Jesus of Nazareth. His miraculous birth was the beginning of the most amazing life, and the lives the faithful are tied to it eternally.
The Incarnation of the Word of God in Christ Jesus is one of the greatest miracles in history. Without the Incarnation we would not have the ministry of the Savior and most of all we would not have benefited from His redeeming atonement and resurrection. Indeed from beginning to end, the Lord’s earthly sojourn was marked by miraculous events.
As you consider this week’s message, pause to consider the true purpose of Christ’s birth and who he is to you and the world. And then I want you to go further and realize that Christ is so much more that we can comprehend yet He stooped down to fellowship with us.
